Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Verizon Wireless Arena, 555 Elm Street, Manchester, New Hampshire: www.verizonwirelessarena.com. Doors open at 6:00 pm to all general admission ticket holders; the show starts at 7:00 pm.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
All entries will be considered on a first come first served basis and must be submitted to the New Hampshire Food Bank, attention Erin Torrey, 62 W. Brook Street, Manchester, NH 03101 by January 25, 2009.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES
This event is open to the first 50 contestants. Should more entries be received, you will be placed on a waiting list and advised if a cancellation should occur.
EVENT CHALLENGE
The concept is to create a fantasy hairstyle extravaganza that is both intricate and daring to achieve a creative presentation of your work. You will be judged in three areas: 10 points for creativity, 5 points for over-all
appearance and 5 points for model’s presentation on stage. The hairstyle with the most points as decided by a panel of judges by a majority vote will win. Cash prizes will be awarded to second and third place winners. The Judges decision is final.
HAIR DESIGN GUIDELINES
You may use a combination of real and/or synthetic hair, braids, and weaves, chicken wire – anything you can imagine to help you create a fantasy hair design. You are limited only by your imagination; however, this is a family show requiring creations that are appropriate for all ages. You may be disqualified for an inappropriate design that would not be suitable for showing.
HAIR DESIGN DESCRIPTION
You will be required to submit a brief paragraph describing what inspired you to make your design and the name of your up-do. The description must be submitted to the New Hampshire Food Bank, attention Erin Torrey, 62 W. Brook Street, Manchester, NH 03101 by Friday, February 27, 2009.
PARTICIPANTS
You are responsible for providing a model, and any assistants. All participants must be at least 16 years of age and will be required to sign a model release form. Models are required to wear all black attire. PREPARATION
You may prepare your model’s hair at the Verizon Wireless Arena in-full or in-part on the day of the event. You and your model must be completely ready and backstage by 5:00 pm on April 23, 2009.
DRESS REHEARSAL
Dress Rehearsal will be held on the day of the show, time TBD. You and your model must arrive at the Verizon Wireless Arena on April 23 by 9:00 am or you will be disqualified, and your registration fee will not be refunded. You and your model are required to remain at the Verizon Wireless Arena for the entire day. You will not be allowed to leave the building for security purposes. Lunch and dinner will be provided.

JUDGING
A panel of three celebrity judges will determine the winners. The scores will be tallied before the end of the hair competition and the winners will be announced that evening. Judges' decision is final.
AWARD WINNERS
The contestant with the highest scores from the judges at the end of the evening is the first place winner and receives a check from our first place sponsor, Autofair of Manchester (www.autofair.com), in the amount of $7,500. The second place winner receives a cash check from our second place sponsor, C.B. Sullivan (www.cbsullivan.com), in the amount of $3,000 and the third place winner receives a cash check from our third place sponsor, Central Paper Products (www.centralpaper.com) in the amount of $1,000.
AWARD PRESENTATION
First, Second and Third place winners along with their models are required to be fully dressed in outfits and hair-do for the Post-Show Party at Commercial Street Fishery, immediately after the show. Commercial Street Fishery is located at 33 South Commercial Street, Manchester, New Hampshire 603-296-0706 (www.csfishery.com). All winners will be presented their prize at the Verizon Wireless Arena; actual checks will be presented at Commercial Street Fishery’s Post-Show Party.
GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS
General admission tickets to the International Fantasy Hair Competition are available to the general public for $35. Tickets can be purchased at the Verizon Wireless Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone (603-868-7300) or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
VIP TICKETS
VIP tickets are available thru the NH Food Bank at a cost of $250 each. These seats are located on the floor and include admission to a VIP party prior to the doors opening to the general public at the Verizon Wireless Arena, and allow for guaranteed access into the Post-Show Party at Commercial Street Fishery immediately after the show. If you would like to obtain a VIP ticket, please call Erin Torrey at the New Hampshire Food Bank, 603-669-9725. Your check is tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. VIP tickets cannot be purchased online.
